8th December - 15th December
  • Pakistan condemned US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, describing the move as a severe blow to the Middle East peace process.
1st December - 7th December
  • Pakistan did not know about the whereabouts of Osama Bib Laden said Obama at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit on December 1, 2017, "we had no evidence that Pakistan was aware of his presence — that is something that we looked at."
  • US Defence Secretary James Mattis visited Pakistan on December 4, 2017 for the first time since taking over the charge of the Pentagon, to persuade Pakistan to do more against the alleged terrorist sanctuaries on Pak-Afghan Border and to discuss President Trump's new regional strategy.
  • Pakistan’s Prime Minister denied any presence of terrorist sanctuaries on its soil and General Bajwa told the US Defence Secretary that Pakistan has done much more than its share. However Pakistani leadership agreed on the need for better cooperation between the two countries and called for ‘broad based engagement’.
  • Pakistan participated in the first SCO Heads of Government meeting after achieving full membership in June this year, at Sochi, Russia, from November 30 to December 1, 2017.
  • Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi inaugurated the first unit of Port Qasim coal-fired power plant on November 29, 2017 marking the second of the major energy projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) started to generate 660 mw electricity
  • A steep decline in the US economic and military assistance to Pakis¬tan as detailed in a Cong¬ressional report in November 2017 from more than $2.2 billion a year immediately after 9/11 to less than $350 million a year, sought for 2018, could also hurt Washington’s desire to prevent cross-border attacks into Afghanistan.
